New Student Enrollment Requirements
A parent or guardian of a child to be enrolled in Flossmoor School District 161 must provide the following in order for a student to be initially enrolled in District 161, unless the family is homeless.
The following forms of identification must indicate the address within District 161 at which the child and the individual registering the child resides and are required for enrollment. Proof of residency requires one document from Category I and two documents from Category II, each of which must show a proper District 161 addressCategory I (One Document)

___ Real estate tax bill
___ Affidavit from a district resident who attests to the registrant living with them at no cost
Category II (Two Documents)
___ Gas or electric bill
___ Driver's license or valid state I.D.
___ Home/Apartment insurance papers
___ Auto registration

McKinney-Vento Act
A homeless child is one who lacks a “fixed, regular and adequate nighttime place of adobe.” In general, children or youth living in welfare hotels, transitional housing, shelters, the streets, cars, abandoned buildings, and other inadequate accommodations are considered homeless. your child receives special education services, please bring a current IEP for placement.
Health Requirements
School Transfer Forms
No public school district is required to admit a new student unless they can produce ISBE Form 33-78 from the student's previous Illinois public school district as per Section 2-3 13a of the School Code. As per the amendment to that code, no school district is required to admit a new student who is transferring from an out-of-state public school unless the parent or guardian of the student certifies in writing that the student is not currently serving a suspension or expulsion imposed by the school from which the student is transferring.
