New Administrators Hired in Flossmoor School District 161
Among the administrators hired at the end of the 2018-2019 school year were new principals for Western Avenue Elementary School and Serena Hills Elementary School and two assistant principals at Parker Junior High School, in addition to a few changes at the District Office.
Elizabeth Reich has joined District 161 as Principal of Serena Hills School after serving as Principal in Oak Ridge School in North Palos District 117 since 2011.
“Filling the principal vacancies at Western Avenue and Serena Hills with high caliber administrators was the highest priority for the District 161 school board coming to the end of the school year,” said Dr. Dana Smith, Superintendent. “After several rounds of interviews with a number of highly qualified candidates, Gina Isabelli and Beth Reich clearly rose to the top of the group.”
Ms. Reich's career accomplishments in North Palos District 117 also include serving as principal of Quin School, curriculum team leader and reading intervention teacher. Reich started her career as an elementary school teacher, working her way into educational leadership after earning her Masters of Arts in Education Administration from Governors State University. Reich also holds a BA in Education and BA in Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University..
