Flossmoor School District 161 has three sections of preschool based on the Preschool for All grant. The classroom is located at Flossmoor Hills Elementary School and one half day program is located at Western Ave. Students attend for 2 1/2 hours daily in either the A.M. session or the P.M. session. The program is for students that have been identified as at-risk based on results from a developmental screening. District 161 provides free regularly scheduled screenings for district residents whose children are three to five years of age. The screening assesses the following skill areas: speech and language, gross/fine motor, self-help, vision/hearing, and cognition. All screenings are done by appointment. Children under the age of 3 will be referred to Child and Family Connections #12 located in Tinley Park, IL, 708-429-8231.
