Google Classroom code 46hsxa

Band meets during Enrichment on Tuesdays-Fridays.

Concert dates:

  • Spring concert - Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30 p.m. Students arrive at 6:00 in concert attire, with instruments and music.

Group lessons last one half-hour per week, on a rotating schedule.. The schedule is sent out to the students via Google Classroom every Monday. Students are expected to check the schedule and come at their assigned time unless they have a test or quiz in class. Missed lessons can be made up for full credit until the end of the quarter.

Students need to bring their Essential Elements book from last year, their instrument, a pencil, and a binder pocket for holding that pencil.

If your child plays a reed instrument, please make sure he or she has a handkerchief swab, reed guard, and the proper reeds. In 6th grade I recommend Rico Royal 3's for clarinet, and 2 1/2's for alto saxophone. It is cheaper and more convenient to buy a box of 10 than to buy them a few at a time. All of these items can be purchased from Quinlan and Fabish (they will deliver them to me) 708-654-4111, or from Melody Mart in Homewood 708-798-5500.

Blue Jazz Band meets on Tuesday after school, from 3:05 - 4:05 p.m.

If you have questions, feel free to contact me at hhoefle@sd161.org or at 708-647-5474.

Thank you!
