Congratulations to the Flossmoor Hills 2025 Spelling Bee participants! The Bee lasted 11 rounds and ended with two students, a fifth and third grader moving on to the district spelling bee. We are so proud of all our spellers! Thank you to Mrs. Thompson for working diligently to prepare our spellers.

Yesterday, Flossmoor Hills Elementary celebrated Community Reader Day. We were thrilled to welcome representatives from the Village of Flossmoor, including Mayor Nelson and Assistant Fire Chief Berk. They read books to our students and took time to answer questions, giving children a chance to connect with the people in their neighborhood who help keep Flossmoor running every day. Their time, enthusiasm, and commitment made the day both memorable and meaningful for our students.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 22nd and 23rd, 2025, weather permitting, Flossmoor School District 161 will apply herbicide and fertilizer to the field areas at Flossmoor Hills and Parker Junior High School. The products to be used for this application are The Andersons Turf Products Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide and Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide. These products comprise a selective broadleaf herbicide and a lawn fertilizer to control weeds/dandelions in these areas and to fertilize the district lawns.
If you have any questions, please contact Scott Stachacz, Director of Buildings and Grounds, at (708) 647-7005.
