REMOTE Learning In District 161

Dear District 161 parents and guardians,

We hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe during these challenging times.

Welcome to the District 161 remote learning hub! While onsite schools are closed due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we have transitioned to remote learning. Our goal is to prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff while continuing to move learning forward for the remainder of the onsite school closure. Thank you for supporting your child during the on-site school closure. We will continue to provide updates on the school closure and remote learning in District 161.

Thank you,

Amabel Crawford

Director of Learning and Instruction

What can parents expect during the remote learning period?

Daily student assignments and activities shared with students through Canvas or email.

Virtual meetings between teachers and students to maintain connections, answer questions and provide support.

Lessons to introduce new learning content or review material throughout the week. (recordings, presentations, etc.) Teachers will prioritize the most essential understandings necessary for students to end the school year successfully.

A daily student check-in form to provide support to students as needed. Students should complete the daily student check-in each day.
