Flossmoor School District 161’s Summer Academy is in full swing—and already nearing the halfway mark. With the theme “Level Up,” this year’s program is focused on boosting student skills, building confidence, and keeping learning fun and engaging throughout the summer months.
An impressive 707 students are participating in the program, bringing energy and enthusiasm to classrooms across the district. Designed to reinforce core academic skills and offer enrichment opportunities, Summer Academy is helping students grow both academically and socially.
“Summer Academy is a joyful space where students get to level up their learning while having fun,” said Ms. Bennett, Summer Academy Principal. “Whether they’re diving into reading, exploring math, or building confidence through hands-on activities, we’re helping them grow in a supportive, high-energy environment.”
The program’s dynamic approach includes interactive lessons that foster curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Teachers have crafted engaging activities that encourage students to stretch their abilities while enjoying the process of learning.
As we move into the second half of the program, the district remains committed to celebrating student progress and maintaining momentum. Families can access learning resources, enrichment ideas, and program updates at sd161.org.
District 161 is proud to continue leveling up this summer—and beyond.
