District 161 logo

Over the past several weeks, we started allowing in-person learning for small groups of students in a few special programs. I am proud to report that, while our student numbers were small, we did not have any internal COVID-19 transmissions within District 161.

Unfortunately, given the rising positive COVID-19 cases in our region and because Governor Pritzker placed our region of the State in Tier 3 mitigation to reduce the spread of the virus, we will be moving to full remote learning for all students. To assist parents, students, and staff in making this adjustment, it will not become effective until Monday, November 30, 2020. The earliest that students will return to in-person learning will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
